Hi, I’m Troy.
Original Shorts, Branded Content, Drama, Comedy, Lifestyle, Travel, Retail, Beauty, Food, Documentary, Medical … I have done it all.
From writing my own treatments, to picking my crew, to first light, to guiding it through post and composing an original score — I live for the process and have made it my life. I even founded my own production company; Chorus Films.
I’ve been a director and filmmaker for two decades now, and it has taken me all over the world. Over those years, I have met and worked with people from all walks of life with amazing stories to tell. It has deepened me, inspired me, and taught me much.
My own story is an unlikely one and best relayed over a coffee or drink. Suffice it to say: my humble origins inform how I treat people, as well as what I strive for as a visual artist, storyteller, and emotionally-resonant filmmaker. Making films has been a dogged lifelong pursuit, so I never take for granted that I make a living doing it and connecting with people.
A little about Working with Me:
I maintain a fun set, but always get the shot. I’m collaborative while being a pragmatic taskmaster. I diligently plan while leaving room for moments of inspiration. I’m passionate but not pretentious. I am prematurely gray but my niece Sadie tells me that’s cool. I currently reside in Atlanta, GA but spend a great deal of time in Pittsburgh, PA where my Mom and Sister live.
In addition to directing ads, shorts, and branded content for agencies and companies like BBDO, Ogilvy, 22sq, Coca Cola, Home Depot, UPS, and many others, I have been fortunate enough to have received multiple awards for my commercial work, as well as my original films and shorts.
On a Personal Note:
I’ve wrapped production on a feature documentary but still harbor the dream of directing and scoring my own small original narrative feature (I have an original script that is quite good.) I’m also an accomplished songwriter and musician.
All in: I sincerely love what I do — and if we work together, you will too.
